Your Rights When Filing an FIR
- Police must register an FIR for cognizable offences — they cannot refuse.
- You are entitled to a free copy of the FIR immediately after registration.
- FIR must be registered in the language you understand.
- You can file an FIR at any police station in KPK regardless of jurisdiction.
- If police refuse, you can file directly before a Judicial Magistrate under Cr.P.C Section 22-A.
